伸びしろは、×の中にある。
間違えやすいところを1問ずつ集めた16問のテストです。答えの紙に、問題ごとに「×→単元N」とプリントの名前が書いてあるので、苦手なところだけを選んで練習できます。単元1〜9は、下の9つの項目を上から数えた番号です（単元1が「-er・-estのつくり方」。単元7はWhichの質問、単元8はlikeの比較、単元9は「まちがい探し」）。ドリルをやったあと、1週間後にもう一度解くと、苦手がなくなったかが分かります。
答えの紙には、問題ごとに「×ならここ」の単元と、丸つけのめやすを書いています。

比べる形（taller）といちばんの形（tallest）の作り方を、語の終わりの形で決めるプリントです。eで終わる語はr・stだけ、短い母音＋子音1つの語は子音を重ねる、子音＋yはyをiに変える、重ねない語（cold・warmなど）は重ねない、という付け方の取りちがえを確かめます。

テストで点を落とす原因の多くは、分かっているのに書き間違えることです。このプリントでは、友だちの答案にわざと間違いを入れてあるので、決まった手順で見直して直します。
- 比べる形のつづりと付け方は語に合っているか（er・est・more・most・不規則）
- thanの文にthanがあり、thanの前は比べる形か（theは付けていないか）
- 最上級にtheがあり、inかofが範囲の語句に合っているか
- as ～ asの間はもとの形か・notはasの前か
- Whichの質問はorでつないで答えは名前＋isか・likeの文はbetterとthe bestを選べているか・文のはじめが大文字で、おわりにピリオド（.）か？をつけたか

比較は中2のどこで習う？つまずきやすい点と家庭での声かけ
比較（ものや人を比べて「〜より」「いちばん〜」「同じくらい〜」を表す形）について、中学校学習指導要領解説外国語編（外国語）は、学年ごとの文法の割り振りを決めておらず、どの学年で何を習うかは教科書会社と学校が決めています。比較はどの教科書でも中2で習いますが、受け身の直前に置く教科書が多く、likeを使う比較は別の課に分ける教科書もあります。このページの診断テストとプリントは、この単元で間違えやすい点を、誤答の形から集めたものです。

比べる形のつづりや付け方をまちがえる
bigerやbeautifuler、gooder、more tallerと書いていたら、語の終わり・語の長さ・不規則な形が確かめられていません。
声かけ語の終わりを見て、長い語はmore、goodはbetterだったね
than・the・in／of・asが抜ける
Ken is taller Aya.やKen is tallest in my class.と書いていたら、比べる文に必要な語が抜けています。
声かけ比べる文はthan、いちばんはthe、〜の中ではinかofだったね
Whichの質問とlikeの比較の語順・答え方
Which is taller, Ken and Aya?やI like dogs than cats better.と書いていたら、orの使い方とbetterの位置が確かめられていません。
声かけどちらかはorで選ぶ、likeの文はbetterの前に好きなものだったね
家庭でできること診断テストで×だった番号を、答えの紙の「×→単元N」で項目ごとに数え、×が多い項目から始めます。直した文は、声に出して「語の終わりを見る、比べるならthan、いちばんならthe、同じくらいならas ～ as」と確かめてから書くと、形が目と耳で確かめられます。1週間後に診断テストをもう一度解くと、直ったかどうかが分かります。学校の指示があるときは、そちらを優先してください。
